Meals for a family

Mealtime is an important part of everyone’s day. Dinner especially for me and my family. It is the one time all the kids can sit down at the table and tell us about their day. Getting everyone around the table is easy when the meal is something everyone enjoys. One of the absolute favorites is…. Spaghetti! When we are ambitious, we make a baked potato or garlic bread.

Recipe for Spaghetti

1 lb of hamburger

1 lb of ground pork sausage

2 jars of spaghetti sauce, my favorites are Hunts or Prego

seasonings: desired amount (1 teaspoon) garlic powder, salt, pepper, minced onion, oregano, thyme, parsley flakes, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar.

I put everything in a big pot and break down the meat and stir it until combined. The longer it simmers on low heat the better it is going to taste. I like to occasionally stir it to make sure it doesn’t burn to the bottom of the pot. Right before we are ready to eat, I make the spaghetti noodles and warm the garlic bread.

I do not combine the noodle or sauce since everyone in my family likes a diffrent ratio of sauce to noodles.
